We currently feature 12 signature experiences: Big Five Safaris, Photographic Safaris, Whale Watching, Ballooning Safaris, Mokoro Safaris, Africa Sleepouts, Gorilla Trekking, Cape Winelands, Southern Peninsula, Shark Cage Diving, Rhino Conservation and Elephant Interaction. Every one of them can be built into a private, tailor made itinerary, and we can arrange activities that are not listed here as well.

Are these experiences separate tours or part of a full itinerary?

They are building blocks. Rather than selling each activity on its own, we design one continuous journey and slot the experiences you want into the right places, at the right time of year, with the flights, transfers and lodges arranged around them.

Can I combine several experiences on one trip?

Yes, and most travellers do. A typical journey pairs a wildlife focused stay with something completely different, for example a Big Five safari followed by a coastal or island finish, or a bush stay combined with a Cape Town and winelands extension.

Are these experiences suitable for honeymoons?

Yes. A large share of our travellers are honeymooners, so we regularly build these experiences into romantic itineraries with private guiding, exclusive use vehicles, sleepouts under the stars and quieter, more private camps.

How much do these experiences cost?

There is no fixed price per experience, because the cost depends on the country, the camp, the season and how many days you spend there. Tell us which experiences appeal to you and a specialist prices the complete trip in USD, usually within 24 hours.

How do I book one of these experiences?

You do not book them individually online. Send an enquiry with your dates, the experiences you are drawn to and a rough budget, and a dedicated specialist will put together a tailor made proposal at no cost and with no obligation.

Yes. TailorAfrica has been planning private African journeys since 2005 and is a bonded member of SATSA, the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association.
